Greetings from London! As a dual U.S. and UK citizen, I couldn't be happier to write this blog entry in reflection of the past few weeks when the eyes of the world were on London. Like many from around the world, I was in London enjoying the fanfare and festivities. Growing up northeast of London in Woodford, Essex, I was proud to see so many flock to London. Woodford is not far from where many major events took place, so attending several events and ceremonies were very special for myself and my family.
In addition to the events, we enjoyed some of my favorite spots around London. With so many people visiting, we were not the only ones! A highlight of this visit was walking through the streets with my family and seeing so many people experiencing London, some for the first time. From hearing tourists speak different languages from around the world, to watching them flock to London's main attractions, it was hard not to get caught up in the excitement and energy. Personally, I enjoyed taking in special exhibits at London's many museums, the creative window displays and watching how brands were maximizing their promotional efforts.
Though the purpose of this trip was to enjoy a vacation in London and Paris, I can't help but think of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins. While in Paris, I was impressed with the focus on environmentally-friendly cars. It's funny, but seeing those cars took me back to our second Dunkin' Donuts "green" restaurant opening in St. Petersburg, Florida earlier this year, which has our first-ever electric car charging station.
It also wouldn't be a vacation for me without a few stops to Baskin-Robbins, and our new restaurants that recently opened in North London look absolutely fantastic. Lately, I've been enjoying Gold Medal Ribbon, our August Flavor of the Month in both the U.S. and the UK, and World Class Chocolate ice cream.
All in all, it's been a great time in London! Until next time, Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins fans...
