PUT SOME BREW IN YOUR BBQ: DUNKIN'’ DONUTS OFFERS RECIPES TO FIRE UP YOUR SUMMER FARE

CANTON, Mass. (June 15, 2011) – With Father’s Day and the summer grilling season upon us, Dunkin’ Donuts is offering some new ways to keep your Dad running on Dunkin’. America’s favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods is serving up a special Father’s Day Twitter contest today for the chance to win $25 Dunkin’ Donuts Cards for you and your favorite father. The brand’s culinary team has also unveiled some exciting new coffee-themed summer recipes that give a delicious kick to any Father’s Day BBQ or summer party.
 
Today, Wednesday, June 15, Dunkin’ Donuts is offering brand followers of @DunkinDonuts on Twitter a chance to win two $25 Dunkin’ Donuts Cards, one for themselves and one for their father, by sharing what in their life runs better because of their Dad. For a chance to win, Twitter followers can enter using hashtag #FathersDDay, with three winners to be selected by the Dunkin’ Donuts social media team. In honor of the start of summer, Dunkin’ Brands’ Culinary Team, led by three-time James Beard Award nominee Executive Chef Stan Frankenthaler, has created a selection of summer recipes that feature coffee as a main ingredient. Dad, or any king or queen of the grill, can add some brew to the BBQ and fire up your traditional summer fare with these simple recipes:
 
Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee BBQ Rub
 
2-3 lbs Country Style Ribs or
3-4 Steaks (NY Strip, Porterhouse, Filet etc.)

 

Rub
2T Paprika
2t Onion Powder
2t Garlic Powder
1T Mustard Powder
1t Cayenne Pepper
1T Chili Powder
¼ c Brown Sugar
2T Kosher Salt
1t Black Pepper
3T Original Blend Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee
 
· Combine all of the rub ingredients in a bowl, mix well.
· Rinse ribs in water, pat dry with a paper towel, and generously rub the mixed spices onto the ribs.
 
Cooking Ribs
  • Heat grill on high.
  • When grill is hot, turn grill on low and place the ribs onto the grill.
  • Continue to cook slowly until rib meat pulls away from the bone.
  • Remove from grill, allow to sit for 2-3 minutes before serving.
 
Cooking Steaks
  • Heat grill on high.
  • When grill is hot, turn grill on medium.
  • Sprinkle a little oil onto the steaks before placing on the grill.
  • Place steaks onto grill, cook to your desired preference for doneness.
  • Remove from grill, allow to sit for 2-3 minutes before serving.
 
Serve with your favorite sides; corn on the cob and baked beans.
 
 
Dunkin’ Dark Roast Coffee Brine
 
4-5 Bone in Pork Chops (Pork Loin or Pork Rib Chops)
 
Dunkin’ Dark Roast Coffee Brine
1 head Garlic
3 slices Ginger
2T Kosher Salt
2t Black Peppercorn
2t Coriander Seed
1 each Cinnamon Stick
2T Brown Sugar
1 small cup Iced Dunkin’ Dark Roast, no ice
 
  • In a small sauce pot, on medium low heat, lightly brown ginger and garlic.
  • Add spices and salt. Toast for a minute or two.
  • Add brown sugar and coffee. Heat until dissolved.
  • Remove from heat, allow to cool before using.
  • Place pork chops into an airtight container or sealable storage bag.
  • Pour brine over pork chops, allow to sit in brine for a minimum of 6-8 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
 
Cooking
  • When ready to cook, heat grill and remove pork chops from the refrigerator.
  • Take pork chops out of brine, pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Rub chops with a little oil.
  • When grill is ready, place chops on grill and allow to cook for 6-7 on the first side (depending on thickness of the chops).
  • Flip the chops, cook for another, 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove from grill, allow to sit for 2-3 minutes before serving.
 
Serve with your favorite sides; potato salad and grilled fresh vegetables.

Peanut Butter Bomb
 
8 oz double brewed Dunkin’ Donuts coffee
1 regular scoop of vanilla ice cream (1/2 cup)
2T caramel syrup
1T of creamy peanut butter
1T of chocolate syrup
· Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
· Pour into glass over ice.
