For many of our dedicated fans, Dunkin’ Donuts is a part of their love stories in some small way. For Olivia and Rob, an adorable couple from Iowa, Dunkin’ was there every step of the way.
Their love story began back in October of 2014, when Rob asked Olivia on their very first date. Where to? A local Dunkin’ Donuts in Ames, Iowa. Sparks flew, and soon enough they were celebrating their one year anniversary. They had to do long distance – Olivia in Chicago, Rob still in Iowa – but sure enough they came together to FaceTime from that very same Dunkin’ Donuts.
Just a few days later, on October 11th, 2015, Rob proposed to Olivia. She came back to Ames, Iowa and he got down on one knee at their Dunkin’. A friend posed as a waiter to bring them their favorite, Blueberry Donuts, and there was the ring waiting in the donut. Friends and family waited nearby to capture the moment and celebrate the happy couple.
In July 2016, the two got married. Instead of a wedding cake they had hundreds of donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts, and plenty of fun signs around with sayings such as, “Donut you know that I love you?” As the couple likes to joke, their love truly does run on Dunkin’.
To thank them for making Dunkin’ a part of their love story every step of the way, together with LittleThings we brought them back to Dunkin’ for a special candlelit dinner. There, we unveiled our huge Valentine’s Day surprise! See how the heartwarming story unfolded below.
