The first day of summer just got a whole lot cooler because today, June 20, is Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day! With every delicious sip of Dunkin’ Iced Coffee (and new this year, Cold Brew and Nitro), guests will be helping bring joy to kids in local children’s hospitals across the country.
The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission is to sprinkle the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness. Thanks to the generosity of Dunkin’ franchisees, today, for every iced coffee and cold brew purchased, Dunkin’ will donate $1 to the Foundation. The Joy in Childhood Foundation will grant 100% of these funds to children’s hospitals nationwide to support impactful programs and child life teams that make kids' hospital stays less stressful and more joyful.
Last year’s Iced Coffee Day raised over $1.7 million, and the Foundation granted 104 Iced Coffee Day Grants. These grants helped bring smiles to kids and families by providing yoga and exercise therapy, adaptive bikes, art and music therapy programs, and so much more.
Leading up to Iced Coffee Day, the Foundation hosted "Painting with Joy" events at hospitals across the country. Kids showed off their creativity by painting their favorite Dunkin’ treat or customizing a Dunkin’ Joy paint-by-number canvas. These special events brought joy through creative art play and helped highlight the importance of child life programming during a child’s treatment and/or recovery.

Many kids will be missing out on the simple joys of summer because of an illness or injury, and our annual Iced Coffee Day fundraiser helps bring unique programs to kids who might be missing out on the swimming, vacations and other summer activities,” said Victor Carvalho, Joy in Childhood Foundation Board Chairman and Dunkin’ Franchisee. “I'm proud each year that Dunkin' and our franchisee community comes together to generously support the Foundation so kids don’t miss out on the fun.
