Dunkin’ Campaign Goes Inside the Bubble with NHL® Superstars David Pastrňák and T.J. Oshie

The coolest ad to premiere this weekend runs on Dunkin’. The new “Inside the Bubble with Dunkin’” campaign will debut during NBC’s NHL® broadcast tomorrow, Sunday, February 7. Dunkin’ skates into nostalgia, as NHL superstars David Pastrňák of the Boston Bruins and T.J. Oshie of the Washington Capitals are reimagined as players inside a classic Bubble Hockey game, facing some unique and humorous situations with Dunkin’ Cold Brews in hand, because where there’s hockey, there’s Dunkin’.

The newest national advertising campaign – Dunkin’s first-ever stop-motion work –  was developed by BBDO New York, along with production partners at Hornet. It is said that hockey players need to have eyes on the back of their head to navigate the fast pace of the game. In this instance, it took 20+ heads as the production team had to painstakingly create nearly two dozen different, hand-painted heads for the Pastrňák and Oshie figures, bringing to life the personal characteristics and facial expressions of each player. Each frame took about 6-8 hours to film to tell the story in a realistic way.

We expect watching these ads will bring back memories of your arcade glory days, so later in the season, we will be giving fans the chance to win a Dunkin’ Bubble Hockey game as seen in the advertising. Stay tuned to @DunkinDonuts on Twitter for more information!
