Today, the Veterans Employee Resource Group at Dunkin’ Brands is proud to be a co-sponsor of The 2019 Run to Home Base. This event supports our Nation’s Veterans and Service Members while helping to raise much needed funds for Home Base. Participants of this unique Boston fundraising event will end their run with the unforgettable experience of crossing home plate at historic Fenway Park. Home Base proceeds from the event will fund the clinical care provided to Veterans, Service Members and their Families.
For those not familiar with Home Base, it is a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program dedicated to healing the invisible wounds for Veterans, Service members and their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research. This is not the first time we have teamed up with Home Base! In April, we sponsored Kurt Power in his Boston Marathon run to benefit Home Base.
Dunkin’ is honored to serve veterans and active duty military at our restaurants each and every day, including at 44 military locations on bases around the world. Additionally, through the Dunkin’ Coffee for Our Troops program, we’ve donated more than 300,000 pounds of coffee to troops deployed overseas. Through the program, each week we send a case of coffee to deployed troops based on recommendations from friends, family members or troops themselves. Since 2003, the brand has sent 10 cases of coffee each week. At today’s Run to Home Base event, Dunkin’ and our Veterans Employee Resource Group will have a table which encourages attendees to write letters to our troops, to be enclosed with upcoming coffee donations.
Fans who wish to submit the name of a deployed member of the United States armed forces can do so at https://www.dunkindonuts.com/en/about/contact-us/military-coffee-request. Dunkin’ will surprise some of these service members with a case of the brand’s ground Original Blend Coffee.
