Dunksgiving Appetizer: Cranberry Brie Hash Brown Canapés

Dunksgiving Appetizer: Cranberry Brie Hash Brown Canapés

Happy Dunksgiving everyone! This is my favorite time of the year, so today I pulled out all the stops and created an appetizer that uses not one, but two Dunkin’ favorites, hash browns and Minute Maid® Orange Coolatta®. I use these ingredients to make canapés, which is basically a fancy word for an open-faced sandwich. Check out the video below where I walk you through this quick and easy dish:

This appetizer is flavor-packed and will impress your family and friends when you tell them what you made it with. I use the Minute Maid® Orange Coolatta® to create an out-of-this-world Cranberry Sauce that I make every year for my family’s Thanksgiving meal. Once that’s made, all you have to do is stack the brie, cranberry sauce and scallions on top of the hash brown and you have your appetizer! I recommend making at least two per person, but having extras never hurts!

Ingredients (makes 24 canapes) Instructions
  • 4 Orders of Dunkin’ Donuts Hash Browns
  • 2 Small wheels of brie cheese
  • 1 Large Dunkin’ Donuts Minute Maid® Orange Coolatta®
  • 1 Bag of frozen cranberries
  • Scallions (for garnish)
  • Make the cranberry sauce by pouring your Dunkin’ Donuts Minute Maid® Orange Coolatta® into a small sauce pan and reduce by half. Add in the cranberries and stir. Cook over medium-low heat for about an hour until the cranberries begin to burst and the liquid thickens.

*(Chef note: This recipe makes more cranberry sauce than you need for the canapés, so you can use the rest for the main event!)

  • Once the sauce is made, set it aside and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place you Dunkin’ Donuts Hash Browns on a baking sheet and re-warm in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Slice the brie into small wedges and set aside.
  • Layer the canapés in this order: Hash Brown, Brie, Cranberry Sauce, sliced scallion.
