December 21. Darkness descends upon us as the day grows colder and the precious daylight is limited to its fewest hours.
The shortest and darkest day of the year can present big challenges for keeping up the positive energy. But at Dunkin’ Donuts, we’ve never been afraid of the dark. And so tomorrow, we welcome our fans to face the darkness, embrace the darkness, and join us as we celebrate the solstice in a big and bold way.
How can you keep runnin’ through the darkest day of the year? Here are five ways we are embracing the darkest day.
1. Go #DunkinDarker
We are crossing over to the dark side with our logo, and even our social channels are looking #DunkinDarker. Fans can follow @DunkinDarker on Twitter and check out our Facebook event page for a unique #DunkinDarker experience, including recipes inspired by our Dark Roast, surprises to celebrate the start of winter and more.
2. Going Live From NYC
At 9 AM, fans can tune in to our Facebook and Instagram for a special livestream event from New York City…we may even have some secret plans in store to embrace the official start of winter.
3. Our First Ever Snapchat Animated Filter
People all throughout the country can keep it dark with a special Dunkin’ Donuts animated Snapchat filter in honor of the darkest day. This marks the first time Snapchat has ever made an animated filter available nationwide.
4. Introducing DDark Roasted Brew
In our home state of Massachusetts, we’ve teamed with Wormtown Brewery to launch DDark Roasted Brew, the first beer to be brewed with Dunkin’ Donuts Dark Roast beans. This decadent stout-style beer with full-roasted coffee flavor is available for purchase on draught starting at the solstice, exclusively at Wormtown Brewery’s Tap Room in Worcester, MA. Learn more here.
5. Celebrating The Darkest Day With Dark Roast Coffee
Wherever you might be facing the darkness, Dunkin’ Donuts’ 30% Rainforest Alliance Certified Dark Roast Coffee can help. A cup of Dark Roast will bring the bold flavor and smooth finish needed to make it through a dark day, without the bitterness typically associated with most dark roast coffees. For some extra delight with the dark, pair Dunkin’ Donuts’ Dark Roast with the brand’s signature Chocolate Glazed Donuts or MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats.
How are you embracing the darkest day of the year with us tomorrow? Let us know using #DunkinDarker on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
