Did you know that today is National Cold Brew Day? To celebrate, we are sharing insights from our very own Jim Cleaves, Manager of Coffee Excellence here at Dunkin’, on Cold Brew and how it’s different from our signature Iced Coffee.
Both Iced Coffee and Cold Brew use high-quality Arabica beans and are freshly brewed everyday. However, each one’s unique brewing process and signature flavor profile set them apart.
Dunkin’ Donuts Original Blend Iced Coffee has been a favorite for years. It is brewed with double the amount of coffee, cooled, and then poured over ice. This process, called double brewing, ensures every cup of iced coffee’s freshness and rich flavor is never compromised at the expense of serving it cold. The result is a lively, balanced coffee with hints of nuts and caramel.
Our Cold Brew Coffee was first introduced in 2016 and has quickly became very popular among guests. Cold Brew is crafted by hand in small batches, prepared by steeping a special blend of coffee in cold water for twelve hours. This longer process extracts a uniquely distinctive flavor from the beans, delivering a rich, smooth coffee with an inherently sweeter flavor reminiscent of dark chocolate. Cold Brew is delicious when enjoyed black, or can be customized with flavors, dairy or sweetener just the way you like it.
