Join Dunkin’ Donuts in Celebrating National Apple Pie Day!

What’s warm, delicious and takes being called, “flaky,” as a compliment? Answer: Dunkin’ Donuts’ Warm Apple Pie. In honor of National Apple Pie Day on Friday, May 13, we’re making it as easy as apple pie to celebrate today, whether you’re in a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant, or tweeting with us on Twitter.

To commemorate the apple of our eye on the Dunkin’ Donuts Hearty Snacks menu, we’re offering followers of @DunkinDonuts on Twitter the chance to win a $50 Dunkin’ Donuts Card by guessing what kind of apples Dunkin’ Donuts uses in its Warm Apple Pie, now available at participating restaurants nationwide. Anyone who offers a correct guess of one of the two types of apples Dunkin’ Donuts uses, plus the hashtag #ApplePieDDay, is eligible to win. The winner will be selected at random and announced at 1:30 p.m. EST on Friday, May 13 by @DunkinDonuts. Click here for additional contest terms and conditions.

Served warm, our handheld-sized baked Apple Pie features a flaky crust topped with cinnamon sugar and is filled with two delicious apple varieties. Wondering what those two apple varieties are? Nice try - we’ll update this blog entry after the contest!. When developing our Warm Apple Pie, our culinary team, led by Executive Chef Stan Frankenthaler, specifically wanted to make a delicious version of this classic treat that is easy to enjoy for our guests on-the-go, but also thought up a unique offering for people who couldn’t imagine a Warm Apple Pie without a scoop of ice cream.

The result? Our very first Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combo offering:  Apple Pie a la Mode, which pairs Dunkin’ Donuts Warm Apple Pie with 2.5 ounces of Baskin-Robbins’ vanilla soft-serve ice cream topped with a drizzle of Caramel Praline. With more than 1,100 combination restaurants throughout the country, click here to find a Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combination store near you!
