Did you know that one in six people in America may not know where their next meal is coming from? That’s why The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF) teamed up with Feeding America to help during our second annual National Week of Service.
Our National Week of Service is all about giving back to the communities we serve. Earlier this month, our franchisees and crew members volunteered at local hunger relief organizations and food banks across America to help those struggling with hunger. From Massachusetts to California to Maine to Florida, our franchisees and employees helped make a difference in their local communities.
Hunger relief means a lot to our franchisees and employees. It is one of the three pillars that drives the DDBRCF, along with children’s health and safety. We have supported Feeding America since 2007 and in 2014 made a $1 million, three-year grant to the organization to support critical initiatives nationwide like alleviating childhood hunger through Feeding America’s BackPack and School Pantry Programs. Big strides have been made, but there is still a lot of work to do.
The summer months can be an especially difficult time for families and children who face hunger due to free or reduced school meals being unavailable and additional childcare often needed. And thank you very much to all those who participated in our Week of Service!
