Happy Birthday, America! Looking back, July 4th has always been filled with fireworks, family gatherings and of course, food (lots and lots of food). We’ve posted our grilling favorites and perfectly refreshing Mar-TEA-ni recipes that will help get your holiday cookout started, so now we’re sharing a recipe that will surely sweeten up this patriotic holiday: Red, White and Blue Layered Coolatta Dessert Cups!
This recipe creates a classic American dessert that is easy to make and even easier to enjoy. We’ve added a smooth Dunkin’ twist to our recipe by substituting water with Coolattas, making your gelatine taste more refreshing and rich, not to mention instantly increasing its “yum” factor.
This is a low maintenance recipe, consisting of only two ingredients per layer with four quick cooking instructions. We used three of our favorite Coolatta flavors – Strawberry, Blue Raspberry and Vanilla Bean – to give our gelatine the red, white and blue affect for the holiday, but you can really use whatever flavor you like to get the color combination you desire. Oh, and don’t forget to have fun with it!
Enjoy and make sure you tell us how it goes! Share your 4th of July cooking stories and images with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Cheers to the Red, White and Blue!

To layer the gelatine:
- Pick out a desired container. We suggest one that is glass so you can see the layers.
- Pour in a small amount of the red layer gelatine then allow to set in the refrigerator for at least 40 minutes or until the gelatine thickens.
- Once the red layer is ready, repeat this for the blue and white layers.
- Then, repeat until the container is full of red, white and blue Coolatta deliciousness!
