Are you interested in an opportunity to bring joy to hospitalized children and their families? We hope you’ll join the Joy in Childhood Foundation, the charitable foundation supported by the Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins brands, in a movement to revolutionize hospital gowns for pediatric patients across the country. All you need are crayons or markers – and your creativity!
Through February 20, the Joy in Childhood Foundation is inviting kids of all ages nationwide to enter its #DDJoyContest to create a custom Starlight Gown.
Starlight Gowns are high-quality, comfortable and brightly-colored gowns featuring creative designs that help kids feel empowered while undergoing treatment. Created with children in mind, these revolutionary gowns bring smiles to hospitalized children’s faces by transforming drab, uncomfortable and embarrassing hospital garments into fun and colorful gowns that kids love.
Contest entrants can visit starlight.org/DDJoy to download, create and submit a design for the next Joy in Childhood Foundation custom Starlight Gown.
The Joy in Childhood Foundation will select three finalists among eligible entries to be chosen as the Joy in Childhood Foundation Design-a-Gown winner. The public is invited to cast their vote for the #DDJoyContest winning design from April 16, 2018 through April 27, 2018 by visiting https://www.starlight.org/DDJoyContest. The winning design will be featured on thousands of gowns that will be delivered to children’s hospitals across the country.

Ameera explained what joy meant to her and her design inspiration by saying “I always associate donuts with happiness because they are always so bright and delicious, so I thought it would be a great theme for a gown. I know it would be my first choice if I had to choose.”

The Joy in Childhood Foundation provides the simple joys of childhood to sick and hungry kids. In 2017, the Joy in Childhood Foundation made a three-year, $1.5 million commitment to Starlight Children’s Foundation in support of programs that bring joy to sick kids, including the Starlight Gown program. To date, the Joy in Childhood Foundation has delivered 10,000 of its custom Starlight Gowns to children’s hospitals nationwide.
