Wisconsin Dunkin’ Restaurant Crew Member Serves Up Happiness

Great coffee and treats served with a side of kindness is what customers at the Dunkin’ drive-thru in Fond Du Lac, WI can expect as restaurant crew member Tony Harris takes orders at the window. With a cheerful voice and a grin from ear-to-ear beneath his mask, Harris brings joy to his local community one donut and coffee at a time.

A devoted Dunkin’ restaurant crew member for two years, Harris was surprised when we wanted to interview him for our blog, and even more surprised at the attention he’s received from his community. With raving reviews and social media buzzing, Harris has been making more than one person’s day greeting them at the Dunkin’ drive-thru.

“It is nice that, without knowing, I am making people happy,” said Harris. “But this is how it is supposed to be. Treating others how we want to be treated.”

Running a quarter of a mile down the street to give a guest their forgotten order is just one memory Dunkin’ Manager Ron Eakin has of this energetic employee. “Tony is someone who can make a connection with anyone,” said Eakin. “There are very few people that can do what he does. When you have someone like that working for you, it is something special.”

Now a local celebrity, guests come from across town to visit the Dunkin’ restaurant crew member. One customer, Ashley Holz, shared her experience in a Facebook post. “I absolutely love going to Dunkin’ because of this man,” wrote Holz. “He always has me roll down the back window to chit chat with my kids about the blue tongues that their Coolattas are about to give them…he’s such a good human!”

Born in Jacksonville, FL, Harris packed his bags and moved to Fond Du Lac, WI to be with his longtime sweetheart. The pair now raises four children, with whom they instill the same message of kindness Harris was taught years ago. “We should all strive to treat each other like family,” said Harris. “That is what it is all about. Treating each other with common decency.”
