First responders and healthcare professionals have been working tirelessly on the frontlines of the coronavirus (COVID-19) response for several months. While these heroes continue to fight the pandemic, siblings and Dunkin’ franchisees Bill Daly, Jr., Tom Daly, and Beth Brulport who own and operate 14 restaurants throughout New Bedford, Massachusetts, wanted to show their support for their selfless efforts.
The siblings and their restaurant employees have been donating coffee to the late-shift medical staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Mass. The siblings also extended the hours later into the evening of one of their Dunkin’ locations closest to the hospital to continue to supply coffee to the medical staff at the times when they need it most.
In addition to the donations, Bill Daly, Jr. came up with an idea to display large banners with words of encouragement outside of their Dunkin’ locations. “There are so many healthcare professionals and first responders working around the clock to protect our community during this pandemic. “We’ve got your back” isn’t just a slogan, it’s a mantra we live by at Dunkin’ during this crisis and beyond,” said Bill Daly, Jr. The siblings are continuing to serve those who serve during a difficult time for all.
Today, on National Nurses Day, May 6, Dunkin’ will offer a free medium hot or iced coffee and a free donut – no purchase necessary – to all healthcare workers who visit participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide, while supplies last.*
As of March 17, service at Dunkin’ U.S. restaurants is temporarily limited to carry-out, drive-thru ordering, and delivery, with a select number of locations also offering curbside service. To-date, through funding provided by Dunkin’, its franchisees, and its Foundation, hundreds of thousands of complimentary cups of coffee, donuts, Keurig® K-Cup pods, and Dunkin’ gift cards have been delivered to more than 300 hospitals and emergency sites, and counting. Let’s keep going. Want to thank a local hero for all that they do? Send them a Dunkin’ e-gift card at DunkinCoffeeBreak.com. For every card sent, Dunkin’ will donate $1, up to $100,000, to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation emergency funds, specifically for non-profits helping families affected by COVID-19.
