This Veterans Day, Dunkin’ is once again giving a sweet salute to all those who serve in our armed forces by offering a free donut to veterans and active duty military on Wednesday, November 11th.* This offer is just one part of our ongoing efforts to show our support and appreciation for those who serve. In honor of this day, we’re continuing our tradition of raising a cup to the standout Dunkin’ guests, restaurant employees, and franchisees who have served and recognizing those who serve.
In Barneveld, NY, three local veterans and Dunkin’ guests John, Bob, and Jim began meeting almost daily at their local Dunkin’, quickly becoming fast friends. Over the past few months, the three decided to set their chairs up outside so they could continue enjoying their Dunkin’ routine together each day. The friendship these three veterans share brightens each day for our Barneveld Dunkin’ crew.
Just a few hours away in Albany, NY, Victor Begin, a veteran and Dunkin’ Restaurant Manager, leads his team by showing respect for every guest. Victor inspires us every day by putting his guests first – he’s known for calling all of the Dunkin’ regulars by their name and takes time to get to know everyone. This kindness has served as a sense of normalcy for guests who know Victor, something that has been especially needed during the pandemic.
In Chicago, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins Franchisee Ray Panjwani has a longstanding history of honoring local veteran groups by hosting gatherings at his restaurants, even winning the Illinois Veterans’ Business Appreciation Award in 2019. As a result of the pandemic, Ray has not been able to host a veteran gathering this year but remains steadfast in his commitment to the veterans in his community and can’t wait to be able to host them again.
Last but certainly not least, Dunkin’ Franchisee Jason Bower has shipped over 800 pounds of coffee to active service members, with the help of his Pottsville, PA community. Jason organized a donation effort and matched every pound of coffee donated. He then sent the coffee to active military deployed both in the U.S. and overseas. In January of this year, a local United States Navy veteran presented Jason with an American flag that flew over Afghanistan during his recent deployment, as a thank you for his efforts.
Here at Dunkin’, we’re proud to give a sweet salute to those who serve and those who support our veterans and active service members. Read more about how we’re honoring Veterans Day here.
