New York has been one of the epicenters of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and Dunkin’ and its franchisees across the state are stepping up to support those on the frontlines. From donations of critical supplies, to delivering complimentary cups of coffee and donuts, all of us at Dunkin’ are doing our parts to help support the heroes on the frontlines, keeping our communities safe.
Dunkin’ has partnered with former Secret Service agent, current host of Bravo’s TV show “Spy Games” and author of “Becoming Bulletproof”, Evy Poumpouras, to make donations to first responders and hospital workers throughout the hardest hit areas of New York and New Jersey as a way to show support and say thank you during this difficult time. In New York City alone, Dunkin’, together with Evy Poumpouras, co-host of Bravo TV’s “Spy Games” and author of “Becoming Bulletproof,” and the NYC Police Benevolent Association, have delivered more than 650 gallons of coffee and over 16,000 donuts to close to 8,000 New York City Police Officers across the five boroughs.
“Essential workers have been hit the hardest by this crisis. We’ve seen them working tirelessly with barely any time to take breaks and I asked myself, ‘what can I do to contribute?’” said Poumpouras. “With Dunkin’, we’ve been able to provide frontline workers with access to quick and convenient sustenance to help them get through their long days. It’s our small way of saying thank you for all that they do.”
Dunkin’ New York franchisees are also stepping up to support those on the frontlines. A handful of efforts include:
- In New York City, franchisees Miten Patel and Caryn Battaglia have delivered coffee and donuts, as well as more than 36,000 pairs of single-use gloves, to the New York City Police Department.
- In Albany, franchisee Bashar Mustafa is thanking heroes by donating 600 cups of coffee, 60 dozen donuts, 700 Munchkins® donut hole treats, 200 bagels and cream cheese spread, and 100 muffins – and counting – to first responders and healthcare workers.
- In Saratoga Springs, franchisee Tom Burke is lifting spirits by donating more than 1,000 donuts to staff at the Albany Medical Center, Saratoga Hospital, and the New York State Police barracks in Malta, NY.
To-date, through funding provided by Dunkin’, its franchisees, and the Dunkin’ Joy In Childhood Foundation, hundreds of thousands of complimentary cups of coffee, donuts, Keurig® K-Cup pods, and Dunkin’ gift cards were delivered to more than 300 hospitals and emergency sites, and counting. Let’s keep going. Want to thank a local hero for all that they do? Send them a Dunkin’ Gift Card at DunkinCoffeeBreak.com. For every card sent, Dunkin’ will donate $1, up to $100,000, to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation emergency funds, specifically for non-profits helping families affected by COVID-19.
