Dunkin’ locations across the country have begun carrying DIY Dunkin’ Donut Decorating Kits, a fun and creative activity to keep kids entertained and bring smiles during a challenging time. To help spread the joy to families and kids who face food insecurity, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation donated DIY Dunkin’ Donut Decorating Kits to two nonprofits, Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children in New Jersey, and So What Else in Maryland, both of which are dedicated to serving families and children in need. Both organizations also received $10,000 each from the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation which in March gave $1.25 million in emergency grants to support health- and hunger-relief organizations across the country on the frontlines of the coronavirus (COVID-19) response.

The Dunkin’ DIY Donut Decorating kits, which include plain donuts, and a bright assortment of frosting and sprinkles will be shared with 150 families through this joyful delivery, in addition to balanced meals and critical supplies.
Based in Patterson, New Jersey, Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children helps break the cycle of poverty through compassionate programs designed to feed, clothe, educate, and empower women and children in need. So What Else, located in Rockville, Maryland, provides underserved youth in the Washington D.C. and Maryland metro communities with afterschool and summer camp enrichment programs. During the pandemic, So What Else is delivering food, water, and essential items to people in need.

“Mothers who came in for meals for their children were delighted to receive the donut kits as a joyful surprise. To bring smiles to at-risk families during this challenging time is really something,” said Laetitia Cairoli, Ph.D., Director of Development of Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children. “We are so grateful to the Foundation and Dunkin’ franchisee, Adam Goldman, who made this moment of happiness possible.”
To-date, through funding provided by Dunkin’, its franchisees, and the Dunkin’ Joy In Childhood Foundation, hundreds of thousands of complimentary cups of coffee, donuts, Keurig® K-Cup pods, and Dunkin’ gift cards were delivered to more than 300 hospitals and emergency sites, and counting. Let’s keep going. Want to thank a local hero for all that they do? Send them a Dunkin’ Gift Card at DunkinCoffeeBreak.com. For every card sent, Dunkin’ will donate $1, up to $100,000, to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation emergency funds, specifically for non-profits helping families affected by COVID-19.
